Nagaland athletes prepare for Northeast Olympics with top coaches
DIMAPUR — The coaching camp for the state athletics team, in preparation for the upcoming 3rd Northeast Olympic Games, commenced at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima, featuring leading coaches from across the country for high-performance training.
A press release from the Nagaland Athletics Association mentioned that athletes were chosen for the camp based on their performance in the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024.
The coaches deputed by the Athletic Federation of India for the Nagaland state team are Om Prakash Karhana (coach for throws), I A Shivanand (coach for middle and long distance), and Deepak Dhillon (coach for sprints and hurdles).
Meanwhile, the Nagaland Athletics Association expressed gratitude towards Dr. Lalit Bhanot, chairman of the Athletic Federation of India Planning Committee, and Dr. Adille Sumariwala, president of the Athletic Federation of India, for their continuous support to Nagaland and the Northeast.
