Dimapur, July 6 (EMN): Close on the heels of first information reports (FIRs) being reportedly filed in Kohima and Delhi against one person from Mumbai for her alleged hate speech on social media, another complaint was lodged against her at the West Police station in Dimapur on July 6.

As per the copy of the complaint, retired Indian Army Major Boktiba Jamie and advocate Sentimenla have filed a complaint against one person identified as Hema Chowdhary for her derogatory remarks and life threats against the Nagas.

The complainants mentioned that “through Facebook/social media one Hema Chowdhary from Mumbai has used life threat against the Nagas in particular and North East Indian people in general which has hurt the sentiments and unsafe for Nagas especially living outside Nagaland. Moreover it will give a sense of insecurity to the victims and trigger a sense of heroism to the defaulter if left unchecked”.

The complainants have requested the police to lodge an FIR under the relevant sections of the law against the complaint and book them, including her social media followers who have been using derogatory remarks, before any harm is done to any Nagas and North East people at the earliest.

A request was also made to the cybercrime to act swiftly and “arrest all her followers who are seen escalating and spreading hate venom and threat to the life of our North East people”.
