Miss Northeast 2022 to be held in Kohima on Nov. 3

Kohima, Oct 22 (EMN): Sponsored by government of Nagaland and presented by Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN), the Northeast Beauty Pageant Organisation (NBPO) for the first time is organising ‘Miss Northeast’ in Kohima on November 3.
The event will be held at Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima from 5 pm onwards with participants from all eight northeastern states pageant winners and runners-up; this was announced during a press conference held in Kohima on Saturday.
The hospitality partner for this event will be Niathu Group, Hotels and Resorts, Niathu Resort, Hotel Vivor and Noune Resort and is being driven by Floyd Hyundai, Vuto Hyundai and Hero Anak Motors Kohima.
Organisers of the biggest Northeast pageantry contest have informed that the winner will receive INR 1.5 lakh with gift hampers sponsored by Floyd Hyundai and Vuto Hyundai while the 1st runner-up will receive INR 1 Lakh with gift hampers sponsored by MLA Imkong L. Imchen and 2nd runner-up will receive INR 70,000 with gift hampers sponsored by Hero Anak Motors Kohima.
Sub-title winners- Miss Photogenic, Miss Perfect 10, Miss Talent, Queen of Hearts, Miss Beautiful Skin and Miss Multimedia will be awarded INR 20,000 each with gift hampers.
The organisers informed that the next edition will be hosted by Sikkim followed by Mizoram.
The tickets for the event are priced at INR 1,000 and INR 500 which will be available from the venue or from Symphony Café near TCP gate in Kohima. Meanwhile the organisers also informed that a facility will be made available for events to go live where people from across can watch through a pay-per-view system priced at INR 100.
The contestants will arrive to the state from October 26 onwards to experience the various traditions and cultures in the state of Nagaland, wherein, they will meet and experience the village life and food at Pfutsero, see the Chakhesang women making their own sanitary pads, weaving in Phek district, then to Khonoma village, St. Mary Cathedral Church and Kohima War Cemetery among many others.
A charity event will also be held at the state capital near Head Post Office on October 28. The charity event will include jumble sales, food items, furnitures and other products which the fund raised will be proceeded to less privileged children and has earmarked a Children’s Home.
A total of 15 participants from the eight states will showcase their rich traditional heritages through ethnic wear rounds among two designer rounds of Kivitoli and Neisa and one evening gown round.
Theja Sekhose will be official choreographer of the event.
Dr. Sagar J. Abichandani, a celebrity dentist and a well-known Pageant Smile Expert including Femina Miss India from Mumbai will be guest judge along with four other judges which will be revealed during the following days.
Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio will be the guest of honour for the event while guests from across the region will come to watch the mega event.
