KOHIMA — Vogue Entertainment Nagaland (VEN) is, for the first time organising, ‘Miss Hornbill International,’ the first international beauty pageant in Northeast India, with beauty queens from across the country including one contestant from Nepal.

Ezhotou Keyho, operational head for Miss Hornbill International, who is also the Femina Miss India Nagaland 2023, informed Eastern Mirror that the event will be held on December 2 — coinciding with the Hornbill Festival 2023 — at Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima from 6 pm onwards.

The event is being supported by the Nagaland Tourism Department, Directorate of Art and Culture, Nagaland Bamboo Development Authority (NBDA) and Department of Sericulture.

A total of 14 participants have passed through the elimination round are set to compete for the coveted title.

The winner will receive INR 2,00,000 while the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner up will receive INR 1,50,000 and INR 1,00,000 respectively.

Sub-title winners will include: Best National Custom, Best Evening Gown, Miss Ramp Walk, Miss Talented, Miss People’s Choice, Miss Fashion Icon or Miss Style Icon, Miss Perfect 10th (Direct entry to top 8th) and Miss Beautiful Smile where each winners will be rewarded INR 15,000.

Introductory and Sashing ceremony of the Miss Hornbill International semi finalists is scheduled to take place on November 24 at imagi.LAND in Kisama. Preliminary judging and Talent Round will be held on November 30.

This event will be a destination event where the contestants will be traveling and exploring the ethnicity in different places of Nagaland, stated Keyho.

Sanjev Tamang will be creative director and choreographer of the event and Dode Nakro, managing director VEN will be the show show director.

While the designers for the event are Keneisanuo Dzüvichü and George Mawblei, Vezotolu Vadeo and Shilpi Mishra for resort wear; Litoli Aye and Rapborlang, Lyngdoh Mawphlang and Aso Tsurho for cocktail wear; Vila Pojar – top 3 evening gowns – cocktail wear designer.

The organisers also maintained that the judges are expected to be both from National and international pageant expert.

Tickets priced at INR 500 for silver, INR 1000 for gold, INR 5000 for platinum and INR 10,000 for royal pass can be made available at Nagaland Coffee and Big Bite or can contact 9863698680.

Nagaland’s Minister for Higher Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along has consented to be the special guest for the event.
