DIMAPUR — Minister of Higher Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, has urged all the non-accredited colleges to get NAAC accreditation and provide quality education so that students not only from Nagaland but mainland India could come and avail education from the state.

The minister stated this during a programme on new accreditation framework for principals and IQAC coordinators of non-accredited colleges held in the conference hall of the directorate of Higher Education on Tuesday. He urged all the government and private colleges to complement each other by sharing their views and ideas for the development of education system in Nagaland.

On decision-making, he stated that government colleges take time while private colleges have advantages as they quickly make decisions for the welfare of their respective colleges, a DIPR report stated.

The programme was chaired by Dr. K Hukato Swu, deputy director of Higher Education, while an invocation prayer was said by Rokono P Keyho, joint director of Higher Education.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sujata P Shanbhag, NAAC advisor from Nagarbhavi, Bangalore, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. A Nshoga.
