Temjen Imna Along assures EMRS projects in Tseminyu and Phek will be operational by 2027; Rio updates on Yaongyimsen CFC unit.

KOHIMA — Minister for Tribal Affairs Temjen Imna Along has assured to make Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) at Phenshunyu in Tseminyu district and Kade in Phek district operational by 2027.
The minister was replying to a starred question raised by MLA Jwenga Seb during the eighth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) on Thursday.
Jwenga Seb, in his supplementary question, asked the minister in charge on the two EMRS projects in Tseminyu and Phek districts, stating that for a project to remain pending for 9 to 10 years there must be something wrong. He also questioned whether the enhancement provision is available and whether the contractors have asked for enhancement cost.
In response, Along said there has been lapse of time due to many factors in the centrally sponsored scheme under the Tribal Affairs department as well as when it was under the Planning department.

Imna Along responded to supplementary questions regarding delays and procedural issues in the project.
Some of the lapse, he cited are changes in structural design during the construction, which considerable time. He clarified that when the ministry came for verification, certain structural designs, soil testing reports, and other technicalities had to be completed.
The minister shared that the amount in the first phase is much lesser than the other phases that have come out but assured that the Ministry India is willing to give the full amount as the work have been done.
To another supplementary question asking why there was no soil testing and groundwork before issuing the work order, he replied that during 2017-18 there was not much guidelines.
The minister added that as the guidelines have changed and certain provisions and stringent rules has to be put up with a team coming from Delhi, things expanded accordingly as per the provision.
CFC food processing unit at Yaongyimsen
To another starred question asked by MLA Nuklutoshi, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio replied that the CFC Food Processing Unit at Yaongyimsen is likely to be completed and become operational within one year if the amount of 60% central share is released by the Ministry of MSME.
Nuklutoshi claimed that the project CFC is very important for fruit processing and spices processing, as the project will benefit the whole Mokokchung, Mon, Tuensang, Wokha and other surrounding districts.
He stated that the project will also benefit lakhs of farmers and unemployed youths.
