Kohima, Feb. 8 (EMN):
Governor of Nagaland and Assam, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, on Tuesday administered oath of the office to I Meyionen, as the chief information commissioner (CIC) of Nagaland.

A swearing-in ceremony was held at Dr. Imakongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan in Kohima, where the Governor administered the oath of secrecy to the new chief information commissioner.

The event was attended by Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy chief minister Y Patton, leader of NPF legislator party TR Zeliang. Ministers including Neiba Kronu, Jacob Zhimomi, V Kashiho Sangtam, Tongpang Ozükum, advisors including Dr. Longrineken and Kazheto Kinimi, Nagaland chief secretary J Alam, DGP T John Longkumer, and host of other senior government officials.

It may be mentioned that Meyionen was a retired inspector general of police (IGP) and director of Nagaland Lokayukta Police. He was appointed as the new chief information commissioner of Nagaland on November 24.
