Meeting with Nagaland CSOs on Indo-Myanmar border soon — Patton

CHOZUBA — The government of Nagaland will meet the civil society organisations to discuss matters pertaining to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) decision to seal the Indo-Myanmar border and abolish the Free Movement Regime (FMR), Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton said on Friday.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of an event at Chozuba, Patton, who is also in charge of Home and Border Affairs, said that the state cabinet had met on Feb. 8, and will soon meet the CSOs. However, a date has not been fixed yet, he said.

Chozuba PS to be upgraded to SDPO

Meanwhile, Patton also said the Police Station in Chozuba will be upgraded to the level of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), stating that the local MLA and advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, had been requesting the same.

Patton said that the Chozuba PS will be upgraded to the SDPO level with jurisdiction over 27 villages and three towns.

Stating that the upgrade would be done during his tenure, he also committed that he would come for the inauguration of the upgraded police station.
