Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): Luzheto village under Kuhuboto area in Niuland sub-division carried out various development and other activities in the village to commemorate the golden jubilee celebration of the village and its church establishment.
An update from chairman of the jubilee planning committee, Khekiye Yepthomi, stated that construction of village gate, development of children’s park were notable among other activities undertaken by the village to mark the year-long celebration.
It also stated that the villagers organised an advent Christmas programme, which witnessed bonfire and presentation of various cultural items and feast on December 1 evening coinciding with the 58th Nagaland statehood day and as part of jubilee celebration.
Speaking at the advent Christmas programme, Pukhavi Yepthomi, former councillor of Dimapur Municipal Council and a resident of Luzheto, shared the joy of Christmas and jubilee celebration to the villagers. A true meaning of Christmas and jubilee, according to him, is when people come together and share joy, give glory to the creator of heaven and earth.
He acknowledged the tireless effort of jubilee planning committee led by Khekiye Yepthomi for carrying out various activities to mark the historic celebration of the village.
It mentioned that earlier this year, PHED minister Jacob Zhimomi inaugurated the village gate while the advisor of Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs Zhaleo Rio inaugurated the tower at children’s park.
It further stated that Khutovi Murumi led the bonfire and highlighted the significance of fire.
