DIMAPUR — Commemorating the centenary jubilee of the Lotha Baptist Christian Association (LBCA), a two-day prayer and worship service was held at Okotso Baptist Church (OBC) in Wokha district on June 20 and 21.
Besides being the first Lotha Baptist Church established in 1904, Okotso Baptist Church is also the venue where the Lotha Christian Association (LCA) was formed on June 21, 1923, by 12 member representatives of Lotha Baptist Churches led by Rajamo Kikon of Mekokla village as chairman and Yichungo Ngullie of Okotso village as secretary.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]An update from the church stated that on June 21 morning, a fasting and prayer programme was observed, which was attended by members of the Okotso Baptist Church and villagers irrespective of denominations.
Rev. JT Lotha and Rev. OY Ngullie, pastor of OBC delivered the message based on the jubilee theme “Ete ekhum lanka jiang etsungi zetav ka….Nungra kako” (Lamentation 3:40) and “Rotava, ete na Opvui thungi kholantavka” (Hosea 6:1).
The welcome address at the opening service was delivered by TL Merry, chairman of COLA (committee on local arrangement), and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Lisathung Murry, secretary of COLA.
