Advisor Kudecho Khamo inaugurated a new futsal court in Chetheba, constructed under the LADP Iconic Project.

KOHIMA — Advisor for Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) Kudecho Khamo inaugurated a futsal court at Chetheba in the Phek district on Saturday. The facility was constructed under the MLA Local Area Development Programme (LADP) Iconic Project.
Addressing the gathering, Khamo lauded the landowners for their willingness to part with their land for the construction of the futsal court, stating that such cooperation is essential for the development of the area.
He said the LADP is intended for the overall development of the constituency and maintained that being part of the ruling government is a mandate given by the people to work for their aspirations and interests.
Khamo also commended the leadership of the area for remaining steadfast in safeguarding the interests of the people.

Stressing the importance of development, he said that without development there can be no progress and called for a collective resolve among the people to achieve holistic growth. He urged the public to contribute by working together, making sacrifices, including donating land when necessary, and praying for the development of the constituency so that it can keep pace with the rest of the world.
Recalling the constituency's contribution to the Naga political movement, Khamo said the area had made immense sacrifices for the Naga national cause and produced many pioneering leaders. At the same time, he urged the people to work in tandem with the developmental aspirations of the government.
Calling for integrity, honesty, and responsibility, he urged the public to protect government assets and public property and ensure their judicious use for the benefit of the community. He also encouraged people to remain informed about various state and central government schemes to avail themselves of available benefits and assured his continued support.
Highlighting the availability of banking facilities in Chetheba town, Khamo urged residents to build a good relationship with financial institutions to gain their confidence and promote entrepreneurship and business as sustainable sources of livelihood.
Describing Chetheba as a strategically located town, he said development plans are being formulated to accelerate the progress of Chetheba and its surrounding areas.
Highlighting the importance of sports, Khamo said it has emerged as one of the highest-paying industries and serves as a powerful medium to unite people and foster peace. Furthermore, Khamo highlighted the need to promote sports to engage youth in productive activities, steer them away from social evils, encourage healthy living, and create livelihood opportunities.
Chetheba Town Welfare Council Chairman Setsoyi Keyho thanked Khamo for fulfilling the long-standing aspiration of the people by constructing the futsal court. He also appreciated the advisor for initiating other developmental works in the area, including the upgradation of the EAC office building, the construction of a working women's hostel, and other welfare-orientated projects for the constituency.
