Nagaland: Kruse inaugurates council hall in Kiruphema

KOHIMA — Minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, on Thursday inaugurated the Kiruphema Bawe village council hall in old Kiruphema village under the 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Kruse underlined the important role of the village council in upholding laws and practices as empowered by the constitution. While stressing on the importance of village councils in dispensing justice, Kruse expressed confidence that the people would receive justice with the inauguration of a new council hall.

“In a democratic set-up, village council is an authority and no other authority can hinder the functioning system,” she said.

The minister also maintained that the council hall was built to deliver justice to every citizen. She further appealed to the citizens to keep alive their tradition.

Meanwhile, she has acknowledged Kiruphema Bawe Council, all well-wishers, organisations and Neilhoupra Kinyü for donating the plot of for the constriction of a new council hall.

Earlier the programme was chaired by Kekhrievituo Dahou, while an invocation prayer was pronounced by Viletuo Vielie, pastor of Kiruphema Baptist Church, an the welcome address was delivered by Hekho Hesielie, chairman of Kiruphema Bawe village council.

Report further stated that songs were presented by Neilasielie and team, while the brief report of village council was presented by Neingukholie Vielie, convenor of building committee, and concluded the vote of thanks delivered by Dzüviu Zhünyü.
