Kiphire and Shamator DPDB meetings convened

DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was convened on Tuesday at the DC conference hall in Kiphire. The meeting was presided over by John Tsulise Sangtam, DC and vice chairman of DPDB Kiphire.

Following a review of the previous meeting’s minutes, the meeting discussed several key agenda, including a proposal to upgrade Eastern Christian School Kiphire to classes IX and X, as well as a proposal for the construction of a new fishery pond and financial aid for agricultural cultivation at Zingki river under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

On the occasion, Sangtam emphasised the importance of attending DPDB meetings and warned that officers who exhibit irregularities and three consecutive absences from DPDB meetings would face disciplinary action. He also stressed that officers send representatives who are well-versed in departmental functions in case they need to take leave in order to ensure the smooth flow of operations.

The DC expressed his gratitude to the heads of offices who diligently and sincerely discharge their duties, providing valuable services to the public and contributing to the progress of Kiphire district. Simultaneously, he urged those heads who exhibit irresponsibility and irregularity in their duties to improve their punctuality and availability when the public seeks their assistance.

The meeting also included informative presentations by the departments of Water Resources and Art and Culture, and during the session, new DPDB members were introduced to the board.

Shamator: The Shamator DPDB meeting was held on Monday at the DC conference hall, and was chaired by Chingyak Konyak, vice chairman of DPDB and DC Shamator.

Speaking on the occasion, he welcomed all the officers and informed them to be in station and make the public aware of various schemes, which was followed by a discussion on agenda such as the establishment of a sub-center in Leangkonger village, the opening of a new private primary school in Leankonger village called ‘Nazareth School,’ and the construction of a new GPS building in Laskiur village complete with all facilities and a playground.

A verification committee comprised of the SDO (c)  Chessore, BDO Shamator, and BDO Chessore was also formed to look into the 58 A/C LADP Scheme for 2023–24.
