Dimapur, April 19 (EMN): Kidima villagers observed the indigenous wrestling for peace at Kohima local ground on Monday.

An update on Monday stated that the forefathers would settle dispute or enmity between an individual, clan or community by wrestling on the second day of KerinyÜ festival. It said that there was no referee to conduct the wrestling and participants would begin with tiema-khe (ready- yes). The loser would say to his opponent ‘you won’, it said.

It added that wrestling was a substitute for any kind of bloodshed and war.
