Kezhavizo Thevo retains NASA-B wrestling champion title

KOHIMA — Kezhavizo Thevo, the reigning Cherüdiki Youth and Sports Association (NASA-B) wrestling champion, retained his title after defeating Medosatuo Paünuo in the final bout at Chedema village on Wednesday.

Thevo, who hails from Chedema village, received a cash prize of INR 30,000, while Paünuo, of Kijümetouma village, received INR 20,000 for the runner-up title. Visazo Zhale of Dihoma village finished third and received INR 15,000, while Keneinguzo Zuyie of Rüsoma village came in fourth and received INR 10,000.

Meanwhile, Rüsoma village claimed the group champion title.

The 57th edition of the wrestling championship organised by the Cherüdiki Youth and Sports Association or Northern Angami Sports Association-B, featured 30 wrestlers from four villages, including Chedema, Kijümetouma, Dihoma, and Rusoma.

Earlier, Vice President of the NDPP, Menuovilie Kesiezie attended as a special guest, while Thejangulie Soukhrie, President of Cherüdiki Public Organisation, was the guest of honour.
