Dimapur, June 8 (EMN): Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN) flagged off a new ambulance service at Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Wednesday.
The new ambulance service was one among 39 distributed by the National Headquarters (NHQ) of Indian Red Cross Society and International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) to various state branches in the country, which was formally launched on April 4 at Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi, stated IRCSN general secretary, Dr. Neiphi Kire.
“We are happy that Nagaland is one of the recipients of this Basic Life Support Ambulance (BLSA) for rendering humanitarian services to this part of the country,” Dr. Kire said. He informed that the Ambulance has facilities for oxygen administration, suction machine, IV drip, air condition facilities etc.
Dr. Kire stated that the Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland has worked out the modalities for operationalising the ambulance and its proper maintenance. He added that a qualified nurse has also been recruited to attend the emergency needs of the patient.
Dr. Kire informed that the public could avail the ambulance service anytime and anywhere by calling Mobile No.7005195839 and 8794242948 at a minimal cost.
Meanwhile, he has expressed gratitude to the national headquarters and International Federation of Red Cross for allotting the ambulance to Nagaland branch. He further appreciated the Governor of Nagaland and President of Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland and his wife for sparing their valuable time to flag off the ambulance service.
