ICFAI University hosts inter-institution tournament

DIMAPUR — ICFAI University, Nagaland, hosted its first inter-institution sports tournament at its campus on October 20 and the 21st.

The two-day sporting event witnessed students from various institutions taking part in futsal, volleyball and basketball (both male and female), an update stated.

Prof. Saundarjya Borbora, vice chancellor of the university, in his address during the inaugural programme, said education should be holistic and that sports play an important part in a student’s life.

Rupanka Bhuyan, registrar of the university, gave away the trophies, medals, cash prizes and certificates.

Immanuel College won the men’s basketball defeating St. Joseph University, while in the women’s basketball final, St. Joseph University emerged champions defeating ICFAI University Nagaland.

In the men’s volleyball, Immanuel College emerged champions defeating St. Joseph University and in the women’s volleyball, St Joseph University defeated ICFAI University Nagaland.

In Futsal, ICFAI University Nagaland emerged champions defeating Immanuel College.
