Hunezo Thisa elected as AAI joint secretary

KOHIMA — Nagaland’s Archery Coach, Hunezo Thisa was recently elected as one of the seven joint secretaries of the Archery Association of India (AAI) during the election held at DDA Yamuna Sports Complex, Delhi.

Thisa, a seasoned sports coach specialising in archery, boasts decades of experience overseeing national championships and other notable achievements. Additionally, he received the prestigious Dr. T Ao Sports Award in 2018 in recognition of his commendable contributions to the field.

Meanwhile, the national executive is being headed by Union Minister, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Arjun Munda as the president and Captain Abhimanyu as senior vice president.

The vice-presidents include Amrinder Singh Bazaz; Awanish Kumar Awasthi; Cherukuri Satyanarayana; Chetan Kavlekar; Eega Sanjeeva Reddy; Kailash Murarka; Dr. Krishna Bahadur Gurung; Krishna Ghatak; and Syed Ali Hussaini alias Shihan Hussaini; while Virendra Sachdeva was elected as Honorary Secretary- General.

Besides Thisa, other joint secretaries included Kiran P Prajapati; Manoj Kumar; Sandeep Jaiswal; R Venkatesh; Sumanta Chandra Mohanty and Surendra Singh, while Dr. Joris Paulose Ummacheril was elected as honorary treasurer.
