Kohima, June 11 (EMN):
In an effort to provide basic healthcare services to the people, MonAram application, a healthcare package designed to specifically cover accidental cases, was launched in Kohima on Saturday.

The package will enable registered members to avail medical treatment up to INR 5,000 without paying in cash at all the empanelled healthcare facilities due to vehicle or any other domestic accidental cases, and an additional INR 2,000 for cases of dental accident(s), which are not covered by other insurance companies.

With a registration fee of INR 500, registered persons will be eligible to receive instant emergency treatment. In case of an accident, the next of kin of the registered member will be eligible to receive a sum of INR 50,000 as ex-gratia.

MonAram is a social impact initiative of SpeakGuru Foundation and is also one of the winners of the first Hackathon edition organised by Startup Nagaland in partnership with the Department of Industries and Commerce, and Educentre School of Business, 2021.

Kenei Kuotsu, the man behind the app and also the founder of SpeakGuru Foundation, said the idea of the project was conceived to provide accessible healthcare to the people of the state. He started developing the app a year ago and it’s now available on Google Play store.

Sharing about the inspiration behind the project, he said his late father had met with an accident and he was immediately given medical attention, which made the difference.

Dedicating the project to his late father, he said ‘your loved ones are very precious and to get immediate medical attention makes a difference’. He also expressed hope of expanding the app to neighbouring states as well.

The app has been empanelled with several hospitals and clinics in Dimapur, Wokha, Kohima, Mokokchung and Zunheboto.

Prior to the launching of the application, MonAram brand ambassador Thejakielie Zuyie and other motorcyclists had set out on a state-wide motorcycle campaign to promote MonAram.

A promotional video of MonAram by Dreamz Unlimited was also released during the launch of the programme.
