Kohima, May 13 (EMN): Two motorcyclists from Nagaland — Thejakielie Zuyie and Pelevizo Meyase — set out on a state-wide motorcycle campaign to promote “MonAram”, a mobile application that deals with healthcare protection for the state of Nagaland.

Start-Up Nagaland team leader and assistant director of Industries and Commerce, Keneirienuo Theünuo launched the campaign at the directorate on Friday.

The campaign is a brilliant and innovative initiative, having the potential to provide excellent service to public as most Nagas are not serious about insurance, she said.

With a registration fee of INR 500, registered persons will be eligible to receive instant emergency treatment at the empanelled healthcare facilities, she informed and expressed hope that the app be promoted and more Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) be signed with healthcare providers for the people’s welfare.

MonAram’s brand ambassador, Thejakielie Zuyie said that MonAram is not an insurance but a healthcare package provider designed specifically to cover accidental cases for registered members.

The package will enable registered members to avail medical treatment worth up to INR 5,000 without paying cash at any of the empanelled healthcare facilities in vehicle or any other domestic accidental cases and an additional INR 2,000 for cases of dental accident(s), which are not covered by other insurance companies.

In case of an accident, the next of kin of the registered member will be eligible to receive a sum of INR 50,000 as ex-gratia.

Users can register with a nominal fee of INR 500 and a unique QR Code will be allotted to them, which can be used in the identification process when availing any of the benefit, Zuyie informed.

The two motorcyclists will further advocate for healthcare service providers to get themselves empanelled with MonAram.

MonAram is a social impact initiative of SpeakGuru Foundation, a non-governmental organisation and is one of the winners of the first hackathon, organised by StartUp Nagaland, in partnership with the department of Industries and Commerce and Educentre School of Business last year.

SpeakGuru foundation is a foundation by Naga entrepreneur Kenei Kuotsu. The MonAram mission aims to provide basic healthcare to Nagaland residents, giving  healthcare package called MonAram Personal Accident package to cover personal accidents.
