Greenwood Higher Secondary School defeated King David Higher Secondary School to win the State-Level Pre-Subroto Tournament for Under-17 boys title.

KOHIMA — Greenwood Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, emerged champions of the State-Level Pre-Subroto Tournament for Under-17 boys after defeating King David Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima, 2-0 in the final played at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima on Thursday.
Zhouviku Lam opened the scoring in the 36th minute, while Lidikhum added the second goal in the 69th minute to seal the victory for Greenwood Higher Secondary School.
The tournament was organised by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland, in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association (NFA).
Nagaland will participate in both the boys' and girls' categories of the 65th Subroto Mukherjee International Football Tournament, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from August 18 to September 25.
The winners of the state-level boys' and girls' tournaments will represent Nagaland at the national tournament. With Thursday's victory, Greenwood Higher Secondary School secured the state's berth in the boys' category, joining PM SHRI Government High School, Meriema, which had already qualified in the girls' category after winning the state title last week.
The champions were presented with the trophy, medals, and certificates by Benei M Lamthiu, MLA and General Secretary of the NFA, along with Jakedovo Chase, Additional Director of Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland, and other officials.
