Dimapur, Jan. 12 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, extended Ponglüm greetings to the people of Nagaland especially to the Chang community on Thursday.
He said the festival marks the celebration of self-sufficiency and heralds the beginning of cultivation process, seeking blessings for a bountiful harvest.
“This beautiful festival aims to pass down the rich culture and beautiful traditions to the younger generation. It advocates unity, friendship and good trade relations.
“On this auspicious occasion, I wish you all happiness, good health and prosperity,” he shared.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also extended Poanglüm greetings to the Chang community.
“May the festival which heralds the beginning of cultivation process foster friendship and unity and our prayers for abundant harvest be answered,” he conveyed.
