Dimapur, Jan. 31 (EMN): Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP), Rangapahar, conducted a two-day workshop on safe handling, care and rehabilitation of wildlife on January 30 and 31 with resource persons from Wildlife Conservation Society India (WCS-India).
The WCS representatives were Anirbhan Chaudhuri, Rishik Dutta Gupta, Vikram Hoshing, Trishanti Paul and Gargi Sharma.
An update from NZP director, Dr. C Zupeni Tsanglai, informed that the workshop was divided into three sessions wherein the participants were given in-depth knowledge about the basics of handling wildlife, their care and rehabilitation with power point presentations.
In the afternoon sessions, there were field exposures to animal enclosures wherein the participants were given hands-on experience. The participants included animal keepers of NZP, staff from crime branch of wildlife Dimapur and Dimapur division.
The workshop concluded with a valedictory function in which the NZP director gave away certificate to the participants.
