Fire in Officer’s Hill Kohima, six families affected

• KOHIMA — A fire broke out at Officer’s Hill Colony, Kohima, on Wednesday around noon, reducing three houses to ashes while six families were affected.
• 
  
• Officer-in-Charge (OC) of South Fire Station Kohima, Inspector Kelesezo Tsukru, told Eastern Mirror that the fire is suspected to have been caused by an electric short circuit when the residents were out for work.
• 
  
• The officer informed that personnel from the station received the fire information around 12.05 noon, and two fire tenders along with their crews from the South Fire Station Kohima took about an hour to bring the fire under control.

• There were no reports of casualties; however, the cost of damage is yet to be ascertained as some residents were yet to return home in the aftermath of the incident while they were at work.

• The bursting of LPG cylinders and the highly raised inferno also caused panic among the localities due to fears of the fire spreading to other houses in the proximity. Burnt cash, besides other properties, were seen at the site where the incident took place.
