The organisers informed that the event was organised in line with the main objective of BBBP- participation and education of a girl child and give a platform to girls to develop confidence and self-esteem as well as to promote traditional attires and local designers from the district.
President of Nagaland state National People’s Party (NPP), Andrew Ahoto Sema, graced the occasion as the special guest, while the deputy commissioner (DC) of Phek, Razouvolie Dozo, was the host.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahoto encouraged the youth to inculcate the spirit of perseverance and determination to achieve success in life saying that ‘there is no substitute to hard work’.
He warned of a listless approach saying, ‘One can have brilliant ideas but poor in execution, while some have mediocre ideas but can execute well.’ He also pointed out that ‘ego is the biggest hindrance for one’s downfall’ and advised to shun pride in life.
“God has made everyone unique but not equal, so harness your potential and strength instead of your weakness”, Sema stated, adding that talents must be used well on what is right and not what is easy.
