DIMAPUR — Educational institutions including Immanuel College, PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Nagaland University organised different events in the past week.
Immanuel College holds career guidance programme
The Immanuel College Career Guidance and Placement Cell, in collaboration with Eagle Crest Training Academy and Consultancy, conducted a career guidance programme on aviation, hospitality, and cruise industry at the college auditorium in Dimapur on February 13.
According to a press release, the resource person for the event was Juniper Phom, admin and training head, Eagle Crest.
In her address, Juniper highlighted various sectors, schemes, and industries partnered with Eagle Crest, including its collaboration with the government of Nagaland.

Six students join Eduversity with 100 per cent scholarship
She informed the students that the institution avails skill loans to trainees under the initiative of the government of Nagaland and also provides programmes such as Home Support Service Training to underprivileged youth.
She outlined some of the key attributes required in skill-based sectors such as adaptability and flexibility, good communication skills, confidence, teamwork, and professional appearance.
The resource person elaborated on the career prospects and opportunities available in aviation, hospitality, and the cruise industry. She further mentioned that their industry partners regularly come for recruitment drives and sometimes online interviews are also arranged when necessary.

‘Prerna Utsav’ was conducted at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Project Sewak, Dimapur, on February 11. The programme aimed at motivating students to recognise their inner potential, develop confidence, and strive for excellence in academics as well as co-curricular activities.
A total of six schools participated in this event with a total number of 85 children, namely, PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Project Sewak, Dimapur; St Mary’s Hr. Sec. Secondary School; Livingstone Foundation International; Hope Academy; Charis High Academy; and HMC School.
Various activities were conducted for the competition such as songs, essay writing, poem recitation, drawing, and caricature. Students shared their experiences and aspirations, aiming to work hand in hand and contribute positively towards nation building.
The winners of this programme were Vivek Saran (Class 11) from Livingstone Foundation International and Ankita Sharma (Class 11) from St Mary’s Hr. Sec. Secondary School. Both winners from the district will go to Vadnagar, Gujarat, for further competition.
Nagaland University convenes alumni meet
Nearly two decades after the launch of its first Master of Business Administration cohort, the Department of Management at Nagaland University brought together generations of graduates for its second alumni meet, convened by the Department of Management Alumni Association (DoMAA) at Noune Resort in Chümoukedima on Saturday.
In his speech, Dr. Ditalak Mpanme, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, Nagaland University, recalled that the department began modestly on a temporary campus with only two faculty members and limited infrastructure. Over the years, it has grown steadily and has now produced 16 graduating batches.
He further noted that the department presently offers PGDTTM, PhD ESBM, EMBA, and PhD programmes in addition to the MBA.
The gathering was attended by N Venuh, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, who commended the alumni association for convening its second reunion.
Reflecting on the evolution since its establishment in 2007, he recalled its modest beginnings and steady rise, noting that sixteen batches have since entered diverse professions. He announced that a permanent building with upgraded infrastructure is expected within two years.
As guest of honour, L Dorendro Singh, Assistant Registrar at NIT Manipur, spoke of the department’s formative years, shaped by limited resources but strong resolve. He highlighted its academic expansion including doctoral and postgraduate diploma programmes and urged alumni to anchor their professional lives in honesty, responsibility, and helpfulness.
The formal proceedings began with a welcome address by Kekhüsezo Zao, president of the association, followed by the general secretary’s report presented by Asani Eshena. An obituary segment, led by Neisal Theyo, was observed in remembrance of departed members.
