Dr. Liezietsu insists more research on Tenyidie language

KOHIMA — Informing that over 300 students have completed their masters in Tenyidie, while 7 scholars have completed their Ph.D in the last 28 years, the president of Ura Academy, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, stressed the need for more research and writings on Tenyidie language for further improvement.

Dr. Liezietsu stated this during the concluding session of the two day 54th Ura Academy (UA) annual seminar held at Ura Academy Hall in Kohima on Friday evening.

Delivering his presidential address, Dr. Liezietsu stressed on the need for more research and writings/ publications on Tenyidie language. He expressed delight on the development of Tenyidie language over the years and stated that it has become one of the most advanced languages among others in the state.

The president informed that a conclave of Tenyidie language authors and writers would be held later this year.

He commended the leadership of Angami Public Organisation (APO) for strengthening the endeavours of Ura Academy to promote Tenyidie language.

Meanwhile, the president of Tenyimi People’s Organisation (TPO), Timikha Koza, stressed the need for reviving and upholding respect for women and elders.

Members of Angami Public Organisation (APO) attended the event as honoured guests, wherein its president, Razouvotuo Chatsu, stated that the organisation has been advocating for the promotion of Tenyidie language in all social and religious events as one of its agenda.

He commended the efforts of Ura Academy for ceaselessly working towards the promotion of Tenyidie language all these years.

Chatsu viewed that Tenyidie is a rich language as compared to other languages and stated the need for more research even as he assured continued support towards Ura Academy.

Speeches were also delivered by Rev. Tsolie Chase and Roviselie Chase, who dwelt on the usage of Tenyidie language in Christian worships and practices.

Songs were presented by Aseno Metha, Visetuo Chupuo and a folk song was also presented by Lophro and group.

The programme was led by Kevichutuo Kuotsu and the benediction was said by Rev. Vesotsu Rhakho, pastor of Police Union Baptist Church.

A new team of Ura Academy Rüpfhünuo was announced to be led by Dr. Rünguso Kuotsu.
