Do not resort to religious stigmatisation, says Nagaland BJP president

Dimapur, Aug. 9 (EMN): Nagaland State Unit BJP president and minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along, informed that “99.9 percent of the BJP karyakartas in Nagagaland are Christians” and urged the people not to resort to “religious stigmatisation.”

BJP Mokokchung district, in a press release, informed that the state BJP president also said that BJP is for all citizens because the party endeavours for the social, economic and political uplift of the people, particularly the tribal people of the country.

Along was speaking at the induction ceremony of 13 “former officials from different political parties” who joined the BJP on August 8 in the presence of BJP Mokokchung district in-charge and former minister, Nuklutoshi Longkumer, at the BJP office in Mokokchung town.

Along stated that there should be no confusion with regard to religion or religious beliefs and asserted that the BJP’s Constitution advocates for secularism and that the national party stands for the whole communities of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and BJP national president, JP Nada.

He further welcomed all to work hand-in-hand for the development of Nagaland.

The BJP Mokokchung district in-charge also exhorted the gathering.

BJP district president, Imolemba Jamir, felicitated the new inductees (former office bearers from NDPP), while the inductees also spoke on the occasion.

The BJP vice president, Bendangtoshi Jamir, delivered the welcome speech, BJP mahila president, Meyisenla Mollier, invoked God’s blessings and vote of thanks proposed by district general secretary, T Temsu Imchen.

The programme was led by BJP district vice president, I Lanutoshi Longkumer.
