DLSU all set to celebrate golden jubilee

Dimapur, Aug. 5 (EMN): Embarking on humble beginning with around four to five members in 1972, the Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union (DLSU) is all set to celebrate its golden jubilee in the first week of October 2022 on the theme “Envisioning radiant posterity.”

This was informed by the DLSU president, Benthungo Lotha, during a press conference held on Friday at Emerald Inn in Dimapur.

The golden jubilee organising committee convener, K Mhachio Lotha, said that the union was formed in 1972 when the district had only one college namely Dimapur Government College then known as Dimapur College with Rainbow Lotha as the first president and Areni Lotha as the general secretary. The present DLSU team is led by its president, Benthungo Lotha, and the general secretary, Michael Yanthan.

The golden jubilee celebration will be a two-day affair. It was also informed that whoever wishes to contribute article for the jubilee magazine both in English and Lotha should be send by August 31 to the magazine secretary. The magazine secretary could be contacted on phone number 8131917422.
