Deceased Nagas laid to rest in Bengaluru

Kohima, May 5 (EMN):
The two Nagas namely Ruopfüvino Terhuja (23) and Sanchiu Khiamniungan (around 44 years), who passed away in Bengaluru on May 2 and 3 respectively, were laid to rest at Indian Christian Cemetery in the city on Tuesday, at around 4 pm.

Students in Bengaluru informed Eastern Mirror that the funeral service of both the deceased was presided over by Rev. Zhabu Yimsung.

Members of Naga Students’ Union Bangalore, Eastern Naga Students’ Union Bangalore, Angami Students’ Union Bangalore and Sumi Students’ Union Bangalore attended the funeral service of the departed souls.

It was informed that some of the mourners made video calls to the family members of the two deceased to enable them have a glimpse of the last rites of their loved ones.

Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio took to Twitter on Monday to mourn the demise of the three departed Nagas — Ruopfüvino Terhuja, Sanchiu Khiamniungan and Aputho Jangri — who passed away in the past few days.

“My deepest condolences to the families in this time of deep sorrow,” Rio tweeted.
According to Nagaland Students’ Union Chandigarh (NLSUC), Aputho Jangri (24) was laid to rest at Sector 25 burial ground where a pastor conducted the funeral rites. The post mortem reports of the three deceased are awaited.

Earlier, Eyethseteu Akami, a 26-year-old Naga woman, succumbed to an illness on the night of April 15 at a hospital following which she was buried at the Sector 25 burial ground.
