DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Vineet Kumar, has informed the general public of Peren district about the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, an autonomous organisation set up under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
In a notification, the DC said that the foundation has been implementing a scheme called ‘Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme’ since January 2024.
The scheme aims to provide medical aid for serious ailments like cancer or any other life threatening disease including organ transplant and spinal surgery to patients from scheduled caste and scheduled tribe whose annual family income is less than INR 3, 00, 000 per annum.
The notification further stated that the applicant shall apply for medical aid by post in the prescribed application form or on plain paper as per details in the prescribed performa (also available in Dr. Ambedkar Foundation website).
Eligible applicants can also submit the application to deputy commissioner’s office during office hours for forwarding to the foundation.
