DIMAPUR — In view of the deputy commissioner office, Kohima, being designated as the dispatch and receiving centre of polling materials and EVMs/VVPATs, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant has issued an official order on traffic regulation.

According to the order, an estimated 700 polling team vehicles will arrive at DC office complex on April 18 and the 19th for collection and deposition of the poll materials.

To ensure smooth passage of the vehicles carrying polling teams and security personnel, the following traffic regulations will be enforced on April 18 and the 19th:

i. The area starting from Razhu Point Junction via Old NST and via D-Block till TCP gate shall be No Parking Zone.

ii. The area starting from Y junction till DC office exit route shall be No Parking Zone.

iii. Northern bound vehicles shall be diverted from TCP gate towards NHAK junction, Naga Bazaar, and Census Point Tinpatti.

These measures have been necessitated due to the shifting of the location for stationing of the election duty vehicle from the local ground to the IG stadium.

The DC appealed to the citizens of Kohima town to comply with the directive and cooperate with the stop-gap arrangement for the successful conduct of the General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024.
