Kohima, Feb. 4 (EMN): The 78th battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Thursday organised civic action programme 2020-21 at its unit/battalion headquarters in Zubza under Kohima district.
Randeep Datta, Inspector General of Police (Manipur and Nagaland sector), graced the occasion as a special guest. Speaking at the function, Datta, lauded the unique culture of the Nagas and assured all assistance to alleviate the suffering of the people.
Meanwhile, the DIGP (Ops) of CRPF, Shyamchand De, in his short speech, expressed happiness in organising the civic action programme and stated that they (CRPF) would go hand-in-hand with the public to bring the ‘public and the personnel closer’.
Commandant of 78 battalion CRPF, Surender Singh, in his welcome address, maintained that the battalion has emerged as a unique force by performing the assigned duties with full devotion and dedication towards maintaining cordial relationship with the neighbouring villages.
He also shared his gratitude to the neighbouring villagers for always extending their co-operation and maintaining cordial relationship with CRPF.
On the occasion, a total of 81 number of water storage tanks with a capacity of 500 litres were distributed to Sechuma, Leizha-B colony Sechu-Zubza and Kherithi-B colony Sechu-Zubza. Besides, it also distributed 10 solar led lights with poles to Sechu- Zubza, Sechuma village road on NH-29 to Don Bosco School road, while 151 number of study material sets were handed to students of Government Primary School (GPS), Sechu Zubza.
In this regard, Neibu Sechu, youth president of Sechu-Zubza, has extended gratitude to the central forces for distributing the facilities for the benefit of the community.
