Crowd swayed to Papon’s hits at Karbi Youth Festival
DIPHU — Popular Bollywood playback singer Angaraag Mahanta, known by his stage name Papon, enthralled a sea of spectators with his magical voice and hit songs at the cultural night of the golden jubilee Karbi Youth Festival (KYF) on Wednesday.
Performing at the Rangsina Sarpo Open Stage in Taralangso, Papon held the energetic crowd spellbound for over two hours with his mix of Assamese, Hindi and Bollywood compositions.
Opening with his own number ‘Tu Jo Mila’ from Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Papon went on to regale the audience with tracks like ‘Pak Pak’, ‘Kyun Na Hum Tum’ and his Assamese song ‘Koi Nidiya Kiyaw’ among others.
The singer also belted out Bollywood hits such as ‘Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’, ‘Bulleya’, ‘Pehla Nasha’, ‘Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se’ and more, besides a remix of Lata Mangeshkar’s ‘Ajeeb Dastaan Hai’. The crowd stayed on their feet, swaying and dancing to Papon’s performance.
Known for his soulful, melodious voice, Papon had the audience enthralled right till his last song, making them forget the cold weather.
