TUENSANG — The Chang Wedoshi Setshang (Chang Students’ Conference) has temporarily suspended its 2nd phase of protest after the minister of Higher Education called for a consultative meeting to discuss the matter on October 20.
Based on a letter from Minister Temjen Imna Along, the CWS wrote to the deputy commissioner of Tuensang that the protest, which resulted in the closure of all government departmental offices in the district, would be temporarily suspended.

The college has been shut since October 12 after the CWS announced its closure to protest the failure of the Higher Education department to address the institute's issues, despite submitting a memorandum and a subsequent ultimatum.
The protest escalated after an unsuccessful video conferencing meeting with the Commissioner and Secretary of Higher and Technical Education, Nagaland, on October 16.
