Career counselling on armed forces, merchant navy held in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — No. 1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC conducted a one-day career counselling seminar on Thursday at Eastern Christian College, Dimapur. It was conducted by the Army Recruitment Office (ARO), Dimapur, and Synergy Maritime Private Limited.
The seminar covered careers in the armed forces and merchant navy in detail, providing information on various modes of entry, recruitment policies, prerequisites, terms of employment, and career progressions.
According to a press release, the director of the ARO, Rangapahar Military Station, highlighted a variety of entry points at different levels and discussed the latest recruitment policy. Brigadier Shree Kumar (retd.), along with resource persons from the merchant navy, deliberated on opportunities in the service.
The event was held under the aegis of NCC group headquarters, Kohima, with the goal of raising awareness and motivating students to join the armed forces and explore the seas by joining the merchant navy.
It was mentioned that over 500 cadets from various institutions in Dimapur attended the event, along with the teaching faculty of Eastern Christian College and associated NCC officers.
In his address, the Commanding Officer of No. 1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC emphasised the importance of such events in raising awareness and guiding young cadets and students to pursue a suitable career and live a successful life.
He expressed gratitude to the principal and management of Eastern Christian College for their participation in making the event a success and appreciated the director of ARO and the merchant navy team for the extensive information they provided to the young minds.
