CAGSA 50th meet: Shodulü Swiho scores first hat-trick in football

Phüsachodü, Feb. 4 (EMN): Shodulü Swiho scored the first hat-trick of the tournament in Women’s football match on Thursday during the ongoing 50th Chokri Area Games and Sports Association (CAGSA) meet at Phusachodu village under Phek district.

Swiho scored four goals and Khrukhosalü added two helping Thenyizu team outplay Chikri Nasa with a scoreline of 6-0 on Thursday.

In another match Chesezu women football team set up a quarterfinal clash against Khulazu Bawe by winning against Chetheba team 2-0 through the boots of Vesetalu Swuro and Nusatalu.

While the lone goal of Niesuzolü Theluo for host team Phüsachodü secured the semi-final round berth for the team as it emerged victorious against Rukizu team by a solitary goal in the encounter. Meanwhile Thipuzu women beat North Kikruma 1-0, and will now play against the winner between the match of Kikruma and Khulazu Basa in the quarterfinal round.

In men’s basketball, Chetheba and Rikizu team have booked their semi-final berths after winning their respective matches on the fourth day.

In the first quarterfinal match, Chetheba team outclassed North Kikruma with 49-27 points to book their semifinal berths. They will now play against Thipuzu in men’s basketball semis.

Rukizu team overcame Kikruma by 49-35 points during the second quarterfinal match. They will take on Thenyizu team in the semi-final match.

In men’s volleyball, seven-time defending champion Thenyizu team on Thursday started well in the two matches defeating Kikruma team with 25-11, 25-15 points and against Thipuzu team with 25-14, 25-15 points. While host team, Phüsachodü, teams of Chesezu, Chetheba, North Kikruma have won their first league matches on the fourth day.

In men’s football, host team Phüsachodü is in good momentum as it thrashed Chokri Nasa team with 7-0 made by Zhoveto Chuzho and Dzüthotsoyi Medeo two each, while Nuvoto Theluo, Vevochuyi Puyo-o, Kuluveyi Curhah scored a goal each for the team. With this, Phüsachodü team topped the group-B table and secured for themselves a berth to enter into quarter-final round. 

Friday’s update

Meanwhile on Friday, the first match –women’s football will be played between Kikruma against Khulazu Basa and  for men’s volleyball, Chetheba team will take on their second match against Chikri Nasa, while Chesezu team will encounter Rukizu team in women’s basketball.
