DIMAPUR — Former president of Nagaland State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Temjen Imna Along, officially handed over the presidential baton to the newly elected president, Benjamin Yepthomi, on Thursday at BJP state headquarter in Kohima.

Imna Along, who is also the minister of Tourism and Higher Education of Nagaland, was appointed as the state BJP president in 2018 and was re-elected during 2020.

Taking to X (formerly known as twitter), Imna Along shared that he has handed over the presidential baton to the new president, Benjamin Yepthomi, in the presence of the deputy chief minister, Yanthungo Patton, and state general secretary (Org) of Nagaland and Manipur, Abhay Giri, at the BJP state headquarters in Kohima.

“My best wishes for a fruitful tenure ahead and may he lead the state unit to greater heights,” he said.

The deputy chief minister, Y Patton, also shared through the platform that under the leadership of the outgoing president Imna Along, “the party scaled great heights and his contributions will continue to shape its future.

With Yepthomi’s rich experience, wisdom, and dedication, I am confident the party will continue to grow from strength to strength.

“Let’s continue to work in unity for the progress of the party and welfare of people,” he added.
