BJP Kohima begins cleanliness drive to commemorate 8 years of Modi government

Kohima, June 3 (EMN): As part of Seva, Sushasan, Gareeb Kalyan programme to commemorate eight years of Modi government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kohima district unit on Friday carried out cleanliness drive at 8th Western Angami mandal on Friday and it will cover all the seven constituencies during the 15-day event which started on June 1.
BJP Kohima president Khrielie Usou said this at a press conference, which was also attended by vice president Vizotso Tase and general secretary Pelenguto Peseyie at the state party head office in Kohima on Friday.
It was informed that the 12th Tseminyu mandal cleaned the Community Health Centre (CHC) on June 2 and the 8th Western Angami mandal carried out cleanliness drive on Friday. The Kohima town mandal and 10th Northern Angami mandal are slated to carry out similar drive in their respective jurisdictions on Saturday, while the 11th Northern Angami mandal will clean hospitals and health centres and worshiping places on June 12.
Usou informed that the two Southern Angami mandals will carry out similar programmes on June 13 and the 14th, before joining the state-level drive on the 15th.
Maintaining that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had initiated over 740 welfare schemes, he said India has a strong, visionary, transparent leader leading the nation.
He also highlighted direct benefit schemes like Jan-Dhan Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna, PM Suraksha Bima Yojana etc. that people at the grassroots are benefitting and programmes like Made in India and Swachh Bharat Mission that are benefitting entrepreneurs and making human habitations cleaner.
He also highlighted infrastructural development works being initiated over the last few years under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). He informed that there are 2, 05,000 beneficiaries of PM Kisan in the state, out of which 9,000 are from Kohima, wherein farmers receive INR 6000 per year.
He also urged the people to avail all the welfare schemes, including free healthcare programme PM-Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
