Kohima, April 18 (EMN): Pointing out that it is good to be sincere Christians, Rev. Sentisashi Aier, senior pastor of Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo (KABA) said that there are a lot of joyless Christians and challenged the people that ‘as believers, one has to be the living testimony for the joy of resurrection’.

He was speaking at the Resurrection Sunday Sunrise Service, organised by Kohima Baptist Pastors Fellowship (KPBF) on “The joy of resurrection” at Kohima War Cemetery on April 17.

He pointed out that two-thousand years back, the people woke up with fear and uncertainty, where some even went to check the tomb of Jesus and found the grave empty and yet, the angels comforted them saying “Do not be afraid, he is not here”.

Rev. Aier said the resurrection fulfilled the prophecy of the scripture by bringing joy to the believers and maintained that because of it ‘mournings are turned into joy’ quoting from Psalms 30:11.

Referencing the book of Job 14:1, he said that everyone has their own problems and sufferings despite life being short but asserted that because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the people are assured of hope and joy.

Rev. Aier preached that all human beings continue to search for joy and continued, “Unfortunately, many a time we search for joy in the wrong places. Jesus is joy and because of his resurrection, this joy is given to us freely for those who search and pray to him”.

He challenged the people in attendance to take the joy of resurrection and the hope of joy in life to all places.

Earlier, a greeting was shared by the KPBF president, Rev. Vezopa Rhakho and reminded the people about the meaning of resurrection in celebration of the Lord’s victory over sin and death and over all the works of Satan.

He urged the people to renew their commitment to Christ and pointed out that without his resurrection, there would be no gospel, no Christianity and said that the resurrection is the heart of the gospel.

Choral presentations were made by Ministers’ Hill Baptist Church and Tangkhul Baptist Church, Kohima.
