Dimapur, Feb. 22 (EMN): Agriculture Technology Managment Agency (ATMA) Zunheboto conducted a demonstration on cultivation of oyster mushroom on February 16. Chubatsur Jamir, BTM, was the resource person for the programme.
An update informed that she demonstrated the various steps and procedures required in the cultivation of oyster mushroom.
It said that preparation of nursery tray and demonstration on the usage of maize sheller and its benefits was also conducted by Hitokali, ATM and Vinoto ATM Zunheboto block respectively.
The demonstrations were conducted with an objective to focus and uplift women self help groups.
Meanwhile, 11 self help groups attended demonstrations at a piggery farm school at Natha old village in Zunheboto. Further, it said that the block technology team of ATMA Zunheboto block conducted demonstration on the proper handling of kiwi fruit during harvesting on February 17. Ningato farm school teacher was the resource person at the kiwi-cum-banana farm school in Asukho village. During the demonstration, he discussed about the various factors and measures necessary to ensure the proper handling of kiwi plantation, it said. It was followed by demonstration on commercial cultivation of banana and packaging and practice of vegetable crops with Chubatsur Jamir, BTM and Vinoto ATM Zunheboto block respectively. All together, 15 farmers along with ATMA officials attended the demonstration at Asukho village Zunheboto.
