ATMA Ralan conducts kisan goshti and animal health camp
DIMAPUR — Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Ralan block, held a kisan goshti cum animal health camp recently at Old Ralan village, Wokha.
According to a press release, during the programme, ATM Z Nchumthung Shitrie gave a brief introduction to kisan goshti and highlighted ATMA activities, while BTM Chophabeni Kikon spoke on the topic of ‘farming for economic stability’.
Kikon discussed how agriculture is important to the economy and how when the agricultural sector develops, production rises, resulting in an increase in marketable surplus.
Phyodemo, a progressive farmer, shared his farming experiences, and as a farmer with extensive experience owning several farms, he challenged his fellow farmers to take farming seriously and generate income through it.
Dr. Myingthungo Ngullie, area coordinator livelihoods, led an animal health camp in which he addressed general livestock health status, management practises, and prevalent diseases and problems in the area so that livestock-related interventions could be implemented systematically.
In the technical session, there was also training on how to make bamboo shoot pickles and a demonstration on how to use biofertilisers, as well as the use of trichoderma harzanium and trichogramma cards. The programme concluded with the distribution of biofertilisers and tricho cards, and it was attended by 20 farmers in total.
