Dimapur, Nov. 8 (EMN): Minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs and president BJP Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along, inaugurated the Rutsa community building at P Khel in Kohima village on November 8 as the special guest.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Along said, “It’s not the size or design of a building, but the preservation of the Naga tradition and culture is the most valuable achievement of all.”
Along said he was encouraged to witness the manner in which the Angami tribesmen value and preserve their traditions and put the community in the forefront above everything else.
“What an honour and how respectful to witness the love and community instinct shown by the Rutsa clan in particular and the Angami tribesmen in general,” BJP Nagaland co-chief spokesperson, Nini Cheng, has quote Along as saying.
While expressing regret on the loss of interest among the younger generation to preserve the rich culture and traditions, he encouraged all to face the challenges of different ways of life.
“You cannot fight ideology by being an idealist, we need to be practical to face challenges and issues of life,” he said.
He also expressed his happiness on how the Tenyidie language is excelling in the educational field. He said, “Language breaks barriers. Tenyidie is binding the society very close.”
Along has congratulated the P Khel clan in their endeavours to preserve the rich culture and traditions and the efforts to keep the tribe and tribesmen in unity.
“We may be coming from different tribes and areas, but the traditions and culture will bring us together. I shall be going back home with memories and stories to tell about the unity of the community,” he concluded.
