Aadhaar seeding with job card mandatory, says RD director
Pointing out that the central government had issued a directive for seeding of Aadhaar card with job card to avail Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Director of Rural Development (RD) Azenuo Pienyu on Monday told the village authorities to do the same on priority.
Addressing the inauguration programme of Circular Road at D Khel, Kohima village, as special guest, the RD director pointed out that the working system of MGNREGA is evolving, requiring proper documentation purely based on Aadhaar seeding.
Expressing delight at the keen interest shown by different khels in Kohima village for development projects, she urged the villagers to work in tandem with the government, and the leaders to work with transparency and accountability.
Highlighting the recent inauguration of two farmers’ markets in the locality, Pienyu told the citizens to work hand in hand with the government for progress and development.
Further, she requested the village authorities to utilise fund judiciously and extend cooperation to the government to enable development.
Secretary VDB Kohima, Nuomvüzolie Sachu, accredited the Rural Development department for contributing towards the development of the village. Sachu in his reported stated that an amount of INR 9. 57 lakh was spent for construction of the 2 km stretch Circular Road.
Earlier, chairman of D Khel Council, Pelesielie Khezhie, thanked the landowners and the RD department for their contributions towards the construction of the road.
The programme was chaired by Khriesatuo Keretsü, vice-chairman D Khel Council, vote of thanks proposed by Ketounei Kire, general secretary D Khel Council and dedicatory prayer offered by Dr. Ruokuovilie Sachu, pastor, Khedi Baptist Church.
The road project was inaugurated in the presence of advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire; Khriehu Liezietsu, MLA; chairman of NBOCWWB, Dr. Kekhrie Yhome; chairman Kohima Village Council, Helievio Solo, and other leaders of the village and rural development department.
