DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NSCN (U) condemned the “false propaganda unleashed by N Kitovi” for staking claims regarding senior ranks of the Naga Army within his faction.

In a press statement, the group stated that the inclusion of two major generals, a brigadier, and a colonel in N Kitovi’s faction does not arise under any circumstances, as they retired from active Naga Army service in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

“Only those whose identification cards have been cancelled are with him. All other senior ranks in political and military service are with the GPRN/NSCN (U),” it said.

Furthermore, it alleged that the statement of allegiance purportedly issued by 190 Naga Army personnel was fabricated to create an illusion for the Naga public and convey a misleading message to the government of India.

“The purported claim by Ino. N. Kitovi blaming Gen. Samson Aye and Maj. Gen. Hotoi Aye was unethical as the President, in exercise of the power empowered by the Yezabo, issued an order to the Speaker, National Tatar Hoho, to call an emergency National Assembly on 21st April 2024, wherein the house unanimously impeached/expelled Ino. N. Kitovi from GPRN/NSCN (U),” it read.

Claiming that the statement was made merely to save face following Kitovi’s failed attempt to gain recognition for his new group, it stated that the purported statement issued by ranks and file in the name of GPRN/NSCN (U) is a misrepresentation of the situation. It further accused Kitovi of misleading cadres who innocently rallied behind him by keeping them on hold with false promises.

Noting that his misuse of office and power “is evident from the display of palatial buildings and sophisticated weapons,” the group alleged that no one is unaware of what Kitovi has been doing recently under the pretext of being the convener of the WC, NNPGs, which provided him with the leverage and cover to execute his designs.

“Claiming the support of top-ranking Naga Army officers along with 190 personnel without names and ranks on 25th October 2024, in addition to the induction of 170 cadres on 29th September 2024 barely a month before, has to be read together to realise the discrepancy, with barely 70 odd uniformed men flocking around N. Kitovi as photographic evidence.

“As the GOI had cancelled their IDs, any usage of rank and status of the GPRN/NSCN (U) would be in gross violation of existing structure. Ino N. Kitovi or any one on his behalf are prohibited from using the name, seal or any kind of identity in the name of GPRN/NSCN (U),” it added.

The GPRN/NSCN (U) went on to warn Kitovi to immediately stop meddling in the affairs of the National Government, stating that if he fails to heed this warning, the government will have no option but to expose his misgovernance and corruption with material evidence, which will have serious repercussions.
