KOHIMA — Chandigarh businessman Randeep Batta, who is on a mission to raise awareness about blood donation and good health, donated blood at the Nagaland Hospital Authority Kohima on Friday.

Batta, who has been donating blood since 1981, has made it his mission to travel across India, donating blood in various states to raise awareness about the importance of this life-saving act. He claims to have already donated over 166 times during his eight-year “Mission Kashmir to Kanyakumari”, which began in 2016. He plans to continue donating blood until he turns 65.

The 57-year-old encouraged the people of the state to come forward and donate blood regularly to improve their own health and help those who are in need.

Through his mission, Batta said he aims to inspire young people to recognise the life-saving power of blood donation, stating that it is a selfless act that transcends caste, religion, and colour.

Blood is a precious resource that can save countless lives, he added.

Batta has been felicitated by the governors and chief ministers of different states for this noble endeavour.
