7th Inter-departmental Badminton Tournament concludes in Peren

Dimapur, Nov. 8 (EMN): The 7th Inter-departmental Badminton Tournament of Peren district culminated on Nov. 6.

The closing ceremony at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Jalukie with DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS, an update informed.

In men’s singles, Anozo Viswentso (prison) emerged as the champion, while Sidibo (social welfare) was declared the runner up. In men’s double, Haidingsap Mpom, and Jacob Siang (9th IR, Saijang) emerged as winners, while Asembe Mbungcha and Irangzaing (PWD) bagged the runners up, it stated.

It said that in the women’s double, Lhingneivah Hangsing and Lhingneithem Singson (SDEO) bagged the first position, while Haikiamle and Iramheile (Social Welfare) were declared as runners up.

In mixed doubles, Chungkhokai Singson and Lhingneithem Singson (SDEO) won the first place, while Samrang and Pelunwi R Newmai were the runners up, it read.

The winners were awarded cash prizes, medals and certificates by the DC of Peren in the presence of ADC Jalukie, ADC Peren and other dignitaries. The DC also congratulated the winners and appreciated all the participants, it added.
