Nagaland men’s and women’s teams taking part in the 73rd Senior National Basketball Championship.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland men’s team went down 46-79 to higher-ranked Uttar Pradesh at the ongoing 73rd Senior National Basketball Championship, played at the Guru Nanak Indoor Stadium, Ludhiana, on Sunday.

Nagaland men’s captain Salew Kadete's standout performance with 17 points, supported by Chumbemo Kikon's commendable 10 points, showcased their indomitable spirit in the face of the towering and tough opponents, an update stated.

In another gripping match, the Nagaland women's team also lost 17-25 to Andhra Pradesh, despite displaying unwavering resilience.

“With an impressive lineup of 34 men's teams and 30 women's teams, this championship promises a riveting display of athleticism, skill, and determination on the court,” it stated.

Nagaland men's team find themselves in Group D, facing stiff competition from Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, the Nagaland women's team, featuring Rajasthan, are set to clash with Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan and Gujarat in Group D.

Nagaland vs. Manipur (Men's) - 10:45 am

Nagaland vs. Jammu & Kashmir (Women's) – 4 pm
