7-member committee formed to re-examine Nagaland Municipal Bill 2023
The committee will be assisted by secretary in-charge of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
KOHIMA — The Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) on Thursday constituted a 7-member select committee to examine matters pertaining to the Nagaland Municipal Bill 2023. The committee will be headed by Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang.
This announcement followed the decision of the NLA on the second day of the session (September 12) of the second session of the 14th NLA, where the house resolved to refer the Nagaland Municipal Bill 2023 to a select committee.
On September 12, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio moved the motion to refer the Municipal Bill to the select committee under rule 73B of the rules of procedure and conduct of business in the NLA.

The NLA Speaker on Thursday put the bill to vote in the house and it was unanimously passed through voice vote to let the select committee re-examine the Nagaland Municipal Bill 2023.
The committee consists of TR Zeliang as the convenor and other members are Minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye; Minister Health and Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak; Minister PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi; Minister for Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir; Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, and Advisor of Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan.
The committee will be assisted by secretary in-charge of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
