60th SASA meet: Medongozo Kintso emerges champion of U-16 wrestling

Kohima, Jan. 28 (EMN): Fifteen-year-old Medongozo Kintso of Kidima village emerged as the champion of the Under-16 Naga style wrestling, while Visabu Yhoshü, of the same age from Kigwema village claimed the second position on Friday.

Ruokuosetuo Tsochü of Mima village and Neisato Bio of Kigwema village secured the third and fourth position respectively.

In table tennis, Viphretuonuo Meze of Jakhama village defeated Thejano Lüho of Khuzama village in the women’s singles, while in women’s doubles, Vizünü and Rüküvonü Sothu from Viswema village beat Vikranuo Ngukha and Medovonuo Rhutsu of Mima village.

Metevito Kintso of Kidima village beat Kevichuto Yhoshü from Kigwema village in the men’s singles, while Khrielie Zashümo and Thejanguzo Zashümo of Phesama village defeated Khrievi Thaprü and Unei Lüho from Khuzama village in men’s doubles.

In badminton women’s single, Abeino Neihu from Kigwema village won over Viravono Toso of Viswema village in the women’s singles, while Ayo Sakhrü of Kidima village beat Keneikhoto Yano from Kigwema village in the men’s singles.

Viravonu Toso and Vilasanu Rhetso from Viswema village beat Kekhriesino Yhoshü and Kelezono Kere of Kigwema in badminton women’s doubles, while Ketoulezo Tacü and Chedevi Mejura of Phesama village beat Keneikhoto Yano and Zhazoto Sale from Kigwema village in men’s doubles.

In mixed doubles, Neisezo Yano and Abeino Neihu from Kigwema village defeated Vil Pusa and Pulenu Neikha of Viswema village.

The indoor games were held at State Indoor Stadium, while the wrestling was conducted at Khuochiezie local ground.

The athletic events will be held from Feb. 1 to the 4th at Jakhama local ground and Kimipfüphe ground, Kigwema.
